How do you get started with the Bakugan game? If your child is asking for a Bakugan toy then the best idea is to get a Bakugan starter pack for him or her.

Bakugan starter pack styles may vary- styles are selected at random when shipped.

The Bakugan come in lots of colors and varieties that make them fun to collect and trade. Most of them are pocket-sized and easy for your child to carry around and bring over to their friend's houses.

The Dekas are are much bigger than the standard Bakugan, but still lightweight. Having a magnet that activates the warriors is a clever idea that adds excitement to the game. The optional Bakugan Launcher (sold separately) is a great accessory, with three shooting modes ("curve," "angle, and "distance"), but it doesn't come with any instructions so it is better to start with a starter pack if this is a first purchase.

We got the red starter pack first (one broke), then the blue starter pack, and for the green pack I made my son 'work' for it ($1 for doing homework without complaining, etc.). He was diligent and relentless! He has had the green pack now for about a month and still loves all his Bakugan. Considering how much you can pay for a toy that rarely gets used, these are worth the money. Also, although one did break early on, none of the others have, and at this point they have been tossed into the backpack and thrown around a LOT. So I think overall they're pretty sturdy. Definitely a winner of a toy for us!

What Is Bakugan?

In case this is all new to you the game is derived from the anime TV cartoon series The Bakugan Brawlers. There is more information here about what Bakugan is.

Bakugan morphing marbles are balls that open when they are thrown onto a metal card. When they open out comes the bakugan brawler, a monster from a distant galaxy. The player calls "Fight!" then the battle begins. Here are the rules on how to play Bakugan
